Worship Team
This team typically consists of a worship leader and supporting singers. Solid vocal skills are needed to participate on this team. Most importantly, worship team members need to have a heart for God and others as well as a commitment to the church. Occasionally, the Worship Team participates in short-term projects such as musical programs for Easter and Christmas.
While we currently have a tremendous group of regular musicians and singers, we continue to search for new talent. Team members should have intermediate-to-advanced musical skills in order to most effectively lead the congregation in its worship experience. Leading a worship service is a special time when Band and Team members open up their own personal worship experience in turn to lead others.
The Worship Team serves as needed on a rotating basis and rehearses weekly on Tuesday evenings at 6:00 p.m. They also commit to arrive at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings to rehearse any final modifications in preparation for the morning worship.
Media
If you like computers, or new technologies, and can respond quickly to changing situations, the Media Ministry might be right for you. Know that this ministry is critical to the worship experience at Ben Davis and that when things go well, nobody notices but everyone appreciates! Technology can be used as an effective tool to reach out to others. The spoken word, music and the arts create an inviting environment through which we can enhance our individual and corporate worship and invite others to Christ.
The Media Ministry is a group of dedicated, behind-the-scenes volunteers. These individuals use technology to strengthen and enhance the sound, lighting and computer/video screen for our worship services. Three or four volunteers are needed every week to operate equipment during each service.
Each person has a specialty and training is available in all areas. Volunteers are grouped into teams that serve on a rotating basis. Each team must attend the weekly rehearsal (usually Tuesday evenings) as well as both Sunday services.
Drama
The drama team presents live situations that enhance the message of the service. The team is also involved in seasonal musical productions and sometimes gives presentations for other church ministry events. Each piece might involve anywhere from one actor or narrator up to a large group. Contact Jared Calhoun if you are interested in participating. They perform several times throughout the year. If your personality has a flair for acting, come give us a try.
