Matthew 25:40

40 “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’

This would be a good day to seek out some of those brothers and sisters who are the most unloved and underprivileged people around us. You know – the ones we scurry on by hoping they won’t ask some awful thing like give me a ride, give me some food, or buy me a pair of shoes. The least of these usually won’t ask you for anything because they are so beaten down by their lot in life that they just accept their poverty. The Lord would have us treat the lost and homeless just as He did – with love and compassion. A kind word means a lot. A full stomach means a lot more.

Dear Lord – As you have blessed me, show me the way to share my good fortune with others. I know Lord that as you walked among the people of your time, You sought out the weak, the down-trodden, the most pitiful people on the face of the earth. That is what You would have me do. Make me aware of the needs around me. Use my hands and money to serve “the least of these” and in so doing bring glory to You my Savior. In His Name I pray. Amen
