Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

– MATTHEW 28:19

Jesus commanded us to go into the world and make disciples. One of the most important – and often most overlooked – purposes of the church is to disciple people into a closer walk with God. So the goal of BDCC is to help individuals grow beyond who they are into who God wants them to be. We believe fully-committed followers of Jesus can change the world one person at a time. By connecting people with a Missional Community and involving them in ministry, we hope to help individuals grow and be fully committed followers of Jesus.

A Missional Community is a second family of believers devoted to living out the gospel in the rhythms of biblical teaching, fellowship, sharing in meals and to prayer; and serving a neighborhood or network of relationships. Missional Communities gather weekly in homes throughout Indianapolis and scatter monthly to serve on mission for Jesus, together.

We believe God has called us to reach people who are far from God. Our hope is that they would believe in Jesus, connect with other believers and begin to live on mission. Missional Communities are groups of believers who are committed to living on mission together. We believe that these communities will create the momentum we need to multiply disciples.

Missional communities meet all over Indianapolis at different times and in different locations. They build families by gathering for a meal while sharing their joys and shouldering their challenges together. They pray for each other and lovingly hold each other accountable to grow and go according to the commitments they’ve made in previous meetings. They teach and study the Bible, looking for new ways to obey Jesus and live out His teachings. They also practice sharing the gospel so they are ready to go on mission. And as the group leader reiterates our vision to reach Indianapolis, each person sets a specific goal to obey Jesus and be a missionary in the coming week.
